Guidelines for Public Mass/Ceremonies

PUBLIC MASSES ARE NOW PERMITTED UNDER STRICT COVID GUIDELINES

MASS IS ALSO AVAILABLE VIA PARISH RADIO / WEBCAM

If you feel unwell or are showing symptoms that might suggest Covid-19 infection

or if you have been in contact with someone who has Covid-19,

please do not attend

• Religious ceremonies and weddings can now take place without capacity limits.

• Hand sanitisers are available at entrances to churches – please use before entering

• It is mandatory that people attending wear masks throughout their time inside the church – it is not essential for Under 13s to wear

• The handshake for the Sign of Peace is suspended

• To receive Holy Communion, people will come up to the priest, bench by bench, and return by the side aisles to the same seat (if church has side aisles)

• Face coverings must be worn coming up for Holy Communion

• Holy Communion will be distributed in the hand only

• Social distancing is essential when coming up for Holy Communion and exiting the church

• Baskets for collections are prohibited – boxes will be left out for people who wish to contribute

• Newsletters should not be shared – once handled, please bring home the newsletter

• Holy Water Fonts must remain empty until the HSE advice on this changes

• After Mass, please ensure you do not leave anything which might carry infection behind, including prayer cards, leaflets, masks, gloves

The Sunday obligation is suspended presently.

Outside speakers are in place in some of the churches presently and in the near future, they will be fitted in the churches that don’t already have them.

Holy Communion will be distributed to those who are outside.

Contact Tracing

Please be aware under HSE Guidelines, people who visit the Parish Office or Sacristy, must be recorded for contact tracing.

Local Link provides a door-to-door bus service for older people living in the Roscrea area

on Tuesday, Thursday & Friday mornings.

Available to anybody who needs it,

Visitation of the Sick

If there is anybody sick, housebound or

hospitalised who would like a visit,

or anybody else who would like a visit for a particular reason,

please contact:

Bringing Holy Communion Home to the Sick or Housebound

Should you wish to bring Holy Communion home to the sick or housebound,

a pyx (small round container used to carry the consecrated host) must be used.

Pyxes are usually available on loan from the Sacristy in Roscrea.

However, all our pyxes are out on loan at the moment –

if you have one & are no longer using it,

please return it to the Sacristy or Parish Office asap so that we can loan it out to someone else who needs one.

Weddings

A Marriage Request Form must be filled out at the time of booking your wedding in Roscrea, Bournea, Kyle or Knock.

These forms are available from the Parish Office or may be downloaded here on our Pastoral Area Website, www.stcronanscluster.ie under Parish Events/Preparations. You may also find a guide to the Wedding Mass on the website, including prayers, readings, templates etc.

At least three months notice is required for all weddings.

Our Parish Shop is open in St. Cronan’s Church.

It is located at the back of the church.

Eucharistic Adoration continues as follows:

Legion of Mary

The Legion of Mary needs new members!

Could you spare one hour per week?

To meet and pray the Legion prayers...

To be part of a world-wide prayer movement...

To do voluntary work for those in need...

Visit the sick at home or in hospital...

Others are already doing this work in honour of Our Lady - why not join them?

The Legion of Mary meet in the Parish Centre every Tuesday morning at 10.30am.

New members are invited to join us.

Divine Mercy Prayer Group

The Divine Mercy Prayer Group meet in the Parish Centre every Thursday evening at 7.30pm.

New members are always welcome to come and prayer with us to the Divine Mercy.

Mothers Prayer Group

Mothers Prayers is for mothers who wish to pray together for their children and grandchildren. During our meetings, we unite in prayer and surrender our children to Jesus by placing their names in a basket at the foot of the cross.

Meetings are held in St. Cronan’s Parish Centre every Tuesday at 11am.

North Tipp Hospice Roscrea Branch

Drop-In Service

Opens every Thursday from 9.30am to 3.30pm at the Parish Centre, Roscrea

to provide support for people who are, or have been, on a cancer journey, or their family members, and

to make people aware of the free services that

North Tipperary Hospice currently offer.

North Tipp Hospice already have two other centres which offer services in Suir Haven, Thurles & Suaimhneas, Nenagh.

These centres provide complementary therapies, eg. reflexology, acupuncture, massages, bereavement support, mindfulness/moving towards inner peace, yoga, support group classes & much more.
